BIOWISE Consortium Meeting in Busto Arsizio: Advancing Skills Development in Biotechnology

·

On 28–29 September, the BIOWISE project partners gathered in Busto Arsizio, Italy, for the project’s second on-site consortium meeting, hosted by Centrocot S.p.A. and co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.

Following the project kick-off in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the meeting represented an important milestone in BIOWISE’s implementation, providing an opportunity to assess progress, strengthen collaboration among partners and coordinate the next phase of activities.

Discussions focused on several key areas, including the finalisation of the Sectoral Skills and Competences Framework, the launch of activities for Curriculum Harmonisation and Modular Learning Tracks, and the planning of the external stakeholder validation process. Partners also reviewed project management, quality assurance and risk management, alongside progress in dissemination and upcoming communication activities.

The meeting marked a significant step in translating the identification of emerging biotechnology skills and competences into concrete educational pathways tailored to the needs of the wood, textile and furniture sectors. Through this approach, BIOWISE aims to support skills development, foster innovation and strengthen the alignment between education and the evolving needs of these industries.

In the coming months, the partnership will focus on developing the BIOWISE curriculum and modular learning tracks, drawing on the expertise of all project partners and incorporating feedback from external stakeholders to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of the learning pathways.

The Busto Arsizio meeting reaffirmed the partners’ shared commitment to advancing innovative learning solutions and addressing emerging skills needs across the three sectors.
